About us
We are New York City’s premier 2’s program for children who have turned 2 years old between the months of April and November. Our classrooms are equipped with 3 teachers for every 8 students. Our small teacher to student ratio allows for a tailored education to meet each individual student’s needs.
Schedule
Children come to school for 90 minutes 3-4 days a week. Each day is packed with talking, painting, drawing, gluing, playing, making friends and giggling. We have everything children need to learn and have fun. We have blocks, a water table, manipulative toys, games and more. Our space comes equipped with a housekeeping area and a transportation area. We introduce science & cooking activities, music & movement, dramatic play, stories & puppets and art & holiday projects.
History
The Playgroup was founded in 1980 by Susan Beatus as the first 2’s preschool in New York City.
The playgroup was created as a unique program where every child is provided with a warm and welcoming environment in their first educational experience
